Wellington Forest Trail (Magic Mushroom) Ultra, WA

Bruny Island Ultra

The Bruny Island Ultra was held on Saturday, November 30 and featured a 64km event from Dennes Point Jetty to Cape Bruny Lighthouse, South Bruny. Runners experienced a course of bitumen, dirt roads and amazing coastal and country scenery.

First in for the men’s event was Nick Vincour with 4:53:34, 2nd Male went to David Chadwick with 5:22:14 and 3rd was claimed by Marcus Cugino (5:23:00).

For the women, it was AURA member Amy Lamprecht taking the crown in first with 5:15:53, Annabel De Jong took 2nd with 5:39:47 and 3rd went to Mariska Kramer with 5:45:13.

Congratulations to all our AURA members who entered and ran in the Bruny Island Ultra including Chris Lewinski (5:25:16), David Von Senden (5:37:47), John Claridge (5:43:19), Alena Scurrah (5:57:23) and Lincoln Quilliam (6:43:13).

Results are still preliminary, yet to confirmed.

Wellington Forest Trail (Magic Mushroom) Ultra

Ultra Series WA’s Magic Mushroom Ultra kicked off bright and early Sunday (December 1) morning at Wellington Dam, WA. With three distances to choose from, there was something for everyone – a 15km, 30km and the ultra of 45km.  

In the women’s event for the 45km, Anna O’Byrne claimed 1st Female with a time of 5:05:57. AURA’s members rounded off the podium finish, with Sarah Niven from Manjimup, WA taking 2nd Female with 6:17:09 and Julia Mackay-Koelen from Stirling, WA coming in 3rd Female with 9:12:08.

For the men, it was Stijn Vlemmix 1st with 4:28:44, Alastair MacKenzie 2nd with 4:58:58 and Patrick Guggisberg 3rdwith 5:51:05.

There are only two AURA-listed races left on our calendar for the year! Say, what?

The Gold Coast 50km will be held on the Gold Coast, Qld on this weekend on Sunday, December 8 and the 6 Inch Trail Marathon (46km) will be the following week in North Dandalup, WA on Sunday, December 15.
