Rotary Rail Trail Run & Ride
August 17, 2019 - August 18, 2019
The Rail Trail Run and Ride is held on the picturesque North-East Rail Trail, between Scottsdale and the Billycock. The event was established in 2018 and is hosted by the Rotary Club of Scottsdale in partnership with Ultrain. This fantastic event not only showcases the North-East Rail Trail to the broader community, but any profit from the event supports the development and ongoing maintenance of the trail.
Event distances ranging from 2km through to 54km, with options to run, ride, or both! There is an event to suit runners and riders of all experience levels.
The trail itself is a well-maintained path and a gradually undulating course, with the 54k course covering one longer up-hill/down-hill sect The event has a number of aid stations providing water and ion. All courses are out-and-back with the exception of the 27k where runners are dropped to bussed to the startline at the top of the Billycock for a speedy (mainly) downhill return to Scottsdale. Aid stations provide water and encouragement and there is first aid and emergency response support on the course.
Scottsdale and the surrounding areas offers a range of attractions, accommodation and free camping, why not make a weekend of it!
