The reason for getting a label for a ultra distance race is so that results can be considered for records or qualifiers. For a race to be suitable for a IAU label it must be measured by an A or B grade certified measurer and the measurement information submitted for a AIMs certificate. It is only once we receive official course measurement and an AIMs course certificate that we can apply for an IAU label. In addition to Measurement and AIMs certificate, there are some IAU race rules regarding pacing, crew assistance, overseeing runners that you would have to agree to follow.
