The IAU conducts its trail world championships event each year. The next championship event will be held on Saturday 9 July, 2011 in Connemara, Ireland. The event will be of 71.5km, see details. Applications are sought to form teams of 3 to 5 men and 3 - 5 women. Applicants must be citizens of Australia and hold a current Australian passport. Successful applicants will be awarded free accommodation for 5 nights (must be accommodated with team) and free ground transport. AURA will receive a travel grant from the IAU/Race Organisers and will top this up with additional funds to assist successful applicants with travel. Free accommmodation may possibly be available for limited crew. Successful applicants must be members of AURA and must have performed well in a recognised trail race sanctioned by AURA. Preference will be given to athletes who have posted one or more quailty performance in a race carrying an IAU label.
