IAU 24 hr world championships

 

The IAU conducts its 24 hr world championships event each year. AURA normally selects a team to represent Australia at this event.

To be considered for selection, the primary qualifying standard is 200 km for men and 180 km for women. This is expected to be raised to 210 and 190 respectivey from and including 2011. The principal qualifying events in Australia are the Caboolture 24 hour held in July, Sri Chinmoy Brisbane 24hr held in June and the Coburg 24 hr held in April. Qualifying events overseas may include the last World Challenge.

A suitable venue for the IAU 24 hour World Championships for 2011 has not been forthcoming and the championships have been cancelled.

In 2012 the 24 hr world championships will be held in September in Katowiche (POL).

In 2013 the 24 hr world championships will be held in May in Steenbergen (NED).
